This tutorial is designed to help you create or update a SnapShot license using DreamFactory's License Manager. This document assumes that you are already in discussion with DreamFactory Sales and are aware of SnapShot pricing.
Launching License Manager
When you launch SnapShot for the first time in your Org, you will not have an appropriate SnapShot license assigned to you. SnapShot will recognize this and display a screen to either Start Eval or Renew License.
You can click either of those buttons and it will open the License Manager application.
Note:
If you already have access to the SnapShot product, you can also go to Support > License Manager. This will open the same License Manager application as well.
Setting up a SnapShot License
To create a SnapShot license, first ensure that the appropriate product is displayed on the Select Product dropdown. License Manager will detect that it was launched from SnapShot and set this appropriately. If you were looking for a different product, like DreamFactory Utilities (which includes the Monarch product as well), please switch the product to DreamFactory Utilities.
Then, follow these steps:
- Select and appropriate action option. Please select I want to evaluate SnapShot if you want to evaluate the product or I want to purchase SnapShot if you want to purchase. If you already owned the product, these two options are disabled and the last two options I want to renew our existing SnapShot license or I want to add users or make other changes to our current SnapShot license should be lit up. If you chose DreamFactory Utilities as the product, you will see SnapShot replaced by Dreamfactory Utilities appropriately. Once you have chosen the right action here, please click the Next button to choose your users who receive a license.
- In the Select Users tab, the License Manager auto-detects all the system administrators in your Org and adds them to the Named Users list. The product does this as SnapShot is an admin focussed product. You can customize the list by adding or removing any users. You can search for users before adding them as well. If you prefer to include all users automatically, please check the Include all users in evaluation checkbox. When you are ready to move forward, please click the Next button.
In the Contact Information tab, please fill out all the fields highlighted in red. If you tried to move forward without all necessary fields, you will get an error. If you already have an existing promo code, please fill it it in the Promotional Code text field. This field is automatically filled in if you are in an evaluation. Please click the Next button when you are ready to move to the License Agreement tab.
In the License Information tab, click the I Agree checkbox once you have had the chance to read through the license terms. Any changes to the contract that you signed with Dreamfactory Sales will supercede these terms. If you would like to be a reference customer, please check I Am A Referenceable Client checkbox. Please check the Next button to move to the final Generate Order step.
In the Generate Order tab, you will see the final price and the billing contact information. You will also see the complete license that is generated in the Complete Text of Order text area. If you are satisfied with the displayed amounts and terms, please click the Finish button. This will create a text field with your license and uploads that file to DreamFactory's servers. When this is done, you will see a Success message displayed in a popup. In addition to this, the Finish button changes to Quit to help you close the License Manager application and return to SnapShot.
