Common SnapShot Push Scenarios

 

Pushing Record Types 

 

1. Create an Object SnapShot of the Source org

2. Switch Salesforce Account and create a Object SnapShot of the Destination Org

3. Compare two Object SnapShots to identify what needs to be pushed

4. Select Push Object SnapShot from the Options Menu and log into the Destination Org

5. Create a back up SanpShot of the Destination Org

6. Push All Objects using the Object SnapShot Push feature (select either Merge or Replace)

7. Create a Profile SnapShot

8. Select the Asset SnapShot View from the View Menu

9. Click on Objects: Record Types in the Asset view to ensure that the desired Record Type appears in the Asset View

10. Select Asset SnapShot Push from the Options Menu and log into the Destination org

11. Select Objects: Record Types from the Asset Menu

12. Select either All or Selected Record Types and add then to the job list by clicking on the green arrow

13. Select the Check For Errors Without Making Changes option to preview the results of the push before pushing

14. Make any changes if errors appear in the results box, otherwise choose your desired push option

15. Push Record Types to the Destination Org (note the message in the results box to confirm that the Record Type was created)

16. Log into the Destination Org to confirm that the Record Type was created.

17. Now push the Record Type Visiblity setting from the Profile Push feature if desired.

 

 

Pushing Page Layouts

 

1. Create Object SnapShot

2. Select Object SnapShot Push command

3. Log into Destination org and take backup snapshot of destination

4. Select the Objects and fields that you want to push

5. Create a Profile SnapShot

6. Select Asset SnapShot View

7. Select Asset SnapShot Push

8. Log into Destination org

9. Click Next to take a back up Profile SnapShot or Skip to skip backup

10. Select Page Layouts

11. Select either all or specific Page Layouts

12. Click the green arrow to add to job list

13. Select the Check for Errors without Making Changes as a preview of the push results. If an error occurs, go back and correct the error.

14. Select from one of the other push options. (Note: if pushing to a production org you must choose Roll Back All Changes If There Is An Error)

15. Check the Destination org to confirm that the Page Layout was pushed successfully

 

 

Pushing Web Links

 

1. Create Object SnapShot

2. Select Object SnapShot Push command

14. Select from one of the other push options. (Note: if pushing to a production org you must choose Roll Back All Changes If There Is An Error)

15. Check the Destination org to confirm that the Weblink was pushed successfully

11. Select the Object that the Validation Rule is tied to

12. Click the green arrow to add to job list

13. Select the Check for Errors without Making Changes as a preview of the push results. If an error occurs, go back and correct the error.

14. Select from one of the other push options. (Note: if pushing to a production org you must choose Roll Back All Changes If There Is An Error)

15. Check the Destination org to confirm that the Validation Rule was pushed successfully
