SnapShot now enables users to to view relationships for selected Assets

SnapShot now enables users to see all relationships that exist in an Org for selected Assets.   To see these relationships simply create an Asset SnapShot, and click on the View Menu and select the Show Relationship Palette command.

To access the Relationship Mapper simply go to the Asset SnapShot and click on the View Menu.

Next, select the Show Relationship Palette command to launch the Relationship Mapper.

Once selected, the Asset View will appear, displaying all of the Assets on the left and the Relationship mapper dialog box in the screen on the right.

Below you will find an example of how the relationship mapper works.

In the screen shot above, the Account object was selected in the Asset View. In order to view the relationships that are tied to the Account object, simply click on the View Menu and select the Show Relationship Palette command.

Once selected, the Asset Related To Object dialog box will appear.  Notice on the label bar of this dialog box that the Account object has been selected. This dialog box will display a list of all of the relationships tied to the Account object separated into three columns.

Asset Type - The Asset Type will show you what type of asset the relationship belongs to.

Object Name - The Object Name will show you the actual Asset that was selected that is tied to he Account Object

Field Name - The Field Name will initially not be displayed, however if you check the box titled Include Objects, the Field Name will be displayed.

The Asset Related To dialog contains three check boxes at the top of the dialog, that enables you to add additional object and profile related fields to the dialog box.  These three options include:

Freeze List - The first check box is titled Freeze List. Checking this box will freeze the results of the previous search in the dialog. Once selected, the results of that search will remain until unselected regardless if an additional asset is selected.

Include Objects – The second check box is Include Objects. Checking this box will add the field name of each relationship. As you can see in the screen shot below, there is a list of all of the relationships tied to the Account object with the Field name included.

Include Profiles – The third check box is Include Profiles.  Checking this box will display the Asset Type and the profile that has the relationship. As you can see in the screen shot below, there is a list of Profile relationships that are tied to the Account object. If you check Include Objects as well, the Field Name column will be populated.

The Relationship Mapper also allows you to easily export the relationship mapper information to a CSV file by clicking on the Export to CSV button in the top right corner.
